How much does on street parking cost?

.25 for 12 minutes. $1.25 for the first 2 hours and $2.50 for the 3rd hour.

What are the hours/days for paid parking?

Parking rates are in effect from Monday to Saturday 9 am - 6 pm.

How long can I park?

3 hours. After 3 hours you must move your car to another stall.

What are my payment options?

Parking Pay Stations accept all coins (except pennies) and VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit cards.

Why do I need to provide my license plate number?

The parking system uses your license plate to confirm payment and to register that your vehicle is legally parked.

Where are Pay Stations located?

The Pay Stations are located mid-block and at intersections. Look for the universal P parking symbol.

Does the receipt need to be displayed on the dashboard?

No, displaying the receipt on the dashboard is not required. A receipt must be printed for a successful transaction.

Express stalls - how do they work? Where are they?

Express stalls are located mid-block on the 100, 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Victoria Street. They are clearly marked and for 15 minutes maximum. These stalls still use coin operated meters, painted blue, and will cost $0.25 per quarter hour.

How much is the parking fine?

$10 if paid within 24 hours, $20 after 24 hours but before 30 days. $40 if paid later than 30 days after ticket issue date.

Where/how do I pay it?

Online: www.kamloops.ca/payonline using a credit card.
City Hall: 6 Seymour Street West, Kamloops V2C-2A1, in person with cash or cheque or mail a cheque.
Yellow fine boxes: located on posts in metered area.

Can I move my car and use the same parking receipt?

When you pay for street parking downtown you can use the balance of any time remaining, and take it with you for street parking elsewhere downtown.

Why did I get a ticket even though I moved my car?

If you received a ticket, chances are that you were parked in the same stall for more than 3 hours or the allotted time you purchased has lapsed.

Why was my vehicle towed?

The City will tow any vehicle with 3 or more outstanding violations.
The City will tow any vehicle parked in a street closure zone.

How do I know which streets have pay parking?

Parking Pay Stations are located mid-block or at the corner of any streets that require paid parking. These streets will also display prominent Pay Parking signs. Riverside Park parking lots - how do you tell the difference between on street parking and off street? Different Zones - on street metered parking is one zone, each off street lot is another. You cannot use time from one zone for another.
